Bern: Residential buildings at Dalmazirain 30 and 32 are being renovated

The municipal properties at Dalmazirain 30 and 32 are to be renovated and converted for a total of CHF 6.6 million. Among other things, new apartments of an upscale standard are planned, which will be offered at market rents.

In the course of the construction works at Dalmazirain, the interiors will be renewed, the facades, windows and roofs will be renovated, new kitchens and sanitary rooms will be installed, the electrical and sanitary installations will be renewed and mechanical ventilation will be installed.

At the Dalmazirain 30 property, a new 3.5-room apartment will be created in addition to the five existing 2.5- to 3-room apartments by converting attic rooms. At Dalmazirain 32, two new apartments will be created in the attic and a new studio apartment on the first floor. In addition, an apartment previously used as a storage room will be returned to its original use. This will increase the number of apartments on offer at Dalmazirain 32 from eight today to twelve with one to four rooms.

So far, the apartments at Dalmazirain 30 and 32 have been offered in the "affordable housing with rental criteria (GüWR)" segment. The new penthouses will be built to an upscale standard and will be rented out at market rents, reports the Confederation. The remaining apartments in the two properties remain in the GüWR segment.
