Romanshorn: New use for Kornhaus at the harbor
The striking Kornhaus in Romanshorn harbor is being converted into a residential and commercial building. Work began a few days ago.

The listed, three-story building, formerly used by the SBB as a warehouse, is being converted by Kornhaus Romanshorn AG at a cost of around CHF 40 million.
On a total of 9,000 sqm, residential space and space for public uses will be created. For example, a 1,300 sqm exhibition area, an event hall for 280 people, a restaurant and small commercial spaces are to be set up on the first floor.
A boardinghouse with 38 apartments is being built on the upper floor. The fully furnished 1.5- to 2.5-room apartments will be sold individually and rented out for the owners via Boardinghouse Romanshorn. Also planned are 12 loft apartments with gallery space under the historic roof. Among other things, an underground parking garage will be built in the basement. Condominium ownership is established over the entire property.
The construction work is expected to take two years.
