Zurich: Outfittery opens first foreign branch office

The German online company Outfittery is opening its first foreign branch in Zurich Kloten and has rented office space directly at the airport. This is what the "Handelszeitung" writes in its current issue.

Outfittery is a shopping consultancy and online retailer for men's fashion in one. The company was founded in Berlin in 2012 and is currently active in eight countries. 50,000 of the total 300,000 customers come from Switzerland.

The location right next to the airport offers opportunities for new services, Outfittery co-founder Anna Alex tells the Handelszeitung. For example, customers who travel a lot could be supplied directly at the gate.

Several media outlets had reported on the opening of the first foreign branch in advance. Outfittery had hit the headlines - and criticism - because it was looking for staff and offered Swiss fashion consultants a monthly salary of CHF 2,500. In doing so, the company had apparently taken its cue from German wage levels. In the meantime, salaries are said to be in line with the market. (ah)
