CSL Behring lays foundation stone for new plant in Lengnau
The biotechnology group CSL Behring has laid the foundation stone for its new plant in Lengnaumoos. The company is investing CHF 400 million in the site.

300 jobs are to be created at the new "CSL Behring Recombinant Facility AG" plant. From 2019, CSL Behring plans to produce new cures for people with hemophilia there. CSL is already considering a second expansion phase; there are still land reserves south of the factory for this.
CSL Behring's plans to locate here became known in May 2014. In January, the Federal Court had rejected the last appeal against the construction project. For Switzerland and especially the canton of Berne, the pharmaceutical company's decision to locate the plant was considered a great success, because Lengnau had prevailed over 45 other possible sites around the world.
