The Kaiserhauspassage in the immediate vicinity of Bern's Bundesplatz has belonged to the SNB since 1971 and has been undergoing extensive renovation since the beginning of the year. The SNB and the Bern History Museum now want to set up a visitor center there that will provide information on the topics of money, monetary policy and central banks. The Historical Museum is also to operate the center. For the museum, the visitor center offers the opportunity to be present in downtown Bern for the first time, according to an SNB statement.

The visitor center is scheduled to begin operations in late 2021 as part of the reopening of the entire Kaiserhaus Passage.
