Zurich Airport: Terminal 2 reopens after renovation work
Zurich Airport has reopened its Terminal 2 after an extensive refurbishment. The new counters in the northern section and thus the entire check-in hall of Terminal 2 is back in operation. The check-in area has been modernized from the ground up. With more space and a better overview, the hall now offers space for a total of 104 counters.
Passengers and visitors enter Terminal 2 via the refurbished pedestrian crossing and from there use the new ascending walkways to reach the check-in hall or the escalators to Arrivals 2. The comprehensive total refurbishment of this building began in June 2010.
Terminal 2 has been in operation for almost 40 years and is part of the core passenger infrastructure at Zurich Airport. In addition to the large check-in hall 2, Terminal 2 is also home to Arrivals 2 as well as various stores, restaurants and office space. The southern part of the check-in counters was put into operation at the beginning of 2014. Completion for the entire Terminal 2 upgrade project is scheduled for the second half of 2016. (ah)
