Lidl Switzerland builds new headquarters
Lidl Switzerland is expanding its headquarters in Weinfelden (TG). The smart discounter is constructing a new building near its current location and will relocate its administration there.

The new building is being constructed on Dunantstrasse, which is also the site of the current headquarters. It should be ready for occupancy in the first half of 2018 and provide space for 300 employees. Construction will begin as soon as the building application has been approved, which was submitted at the end of September 2016, the company says. In addition to the office space, a staff restaurant, coffee islands on each floor, a fitness center and filling stations for electric vehicles are planned.
Lidl currently operates 106 stores in Switzerland, and the expansion is set to continue. More openings are planned this year, according to a company media release. (ah)
