Langnau i.E.: Foundation Lebensart wants to build on Lauterburg site
The Lebensart Foundation is planning a development on the site of the former Lauterburg linen weaving mill in Langnau im Emmental.

According to a report by the Bernese newspaper the Lebensart Foundation wants to expand its site - the former home in the Bärau district - and revitalize the neighboring Lauterburg site.
In the northern part of the site, where the former weaving hall is located, a market hall is planned in which the products manufactured by the foundation as well as products for daily use will be offered. Three residential blocks with a total of 50 apartments are also planned. On the one hand, the target groups are people with psychological, mental or social impairments, who are to be enabled to live as independently and barrier-free as possible in the form of an integrative style of housing. On the other hand, the apartments are intended to appeal to young families and elderly people.
A parking garage is planned at the site of the current parking lot. In the Zettlerei, which is located directly on the cantonal road, a cultural room is to be set up and business-related services are to be accommodated. A bistro is planned in the machine house.
In the middle of next year, the Lebensart Foundation, together with the municipality of Langnau, wants to present its plans to the public. The market hall and the adjoining areas are to be opened in the spring of 2019, while the residential buildings and parking garage are to be completed a year later, writes the Bernese newspaper. (ah)
