According to the regional governor's office, there were five objections to the application submitted in August 2017 for the construction of the BäreTower. The objections concerned shadows cast, a restriction of the view, noise, wind and light pollution and a lack of a traffic concept. Following a detailed examination, the complaints were found to be inapplicable.

With the building permit, the 100.5-metre-high BäreTower, a project by Halter AG, can now be realized. The plan is for a mixed use of residential, hotel and gastronomy, as well as an underground parking garage. With apartments in the immediate vicinity of the train and bus as well as shopping facilities and the nearby exhibition grounds of the city of Bern, a new attractive center for businesses and private individuals is being created in the suburban municipality, writes the cantonal governor's office.
