Harry's Home continues its Swiss expansion

On October 10, construction of the BäreTower starts in Ostermundigen - the Austrian hotel chain Harry's Home will open its second location in Switzerland in the high-rise building near Bern.

In September, an investor was found for the BäreTower in Ostermundigen with HelvetiaA good month later, Halter AG is now starting construction of the high-rise building on the Bären site. In addition to apartments, the BäreTower will also house a hotel and restaurant. Harry's Home will manage the hotel operations. When the BäreTower is completed in 2021, it will be the Austrian hotel chain's second location in Switzerland. In April 2019, the first Harry's Home in this country is scheduled to open in the Waldhaus Neuguet high-rise on the Zwicky site in Zurich-Wallisellen; the property will comprise 117 rooms.

According to information from the General Hotel and Restaurant Newspaper (AHGZ) the expansion of Harry's Home is to be continued even further. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, according to a report, a total of five additional houses of the brand are already fixed, ten locations are in the planning stage.

According to a Harry's Home brochure, potential locations in Switzerland include Basel, Aarau, Lucerne, Fribourg, Chur and St. Gallen, as well as a location in Aargau.

The Harry's Home hotel concept is based on a combination of classic hotel business and apartment rental. Customers only pay for the services they use, such as breakfast, washing machines or car parking spaces. The rooms are offered in sizes ranging from 22 to 65 square meters, and some are equipped with kitchens. Harry's Home thus targets not only vacation or business travelers, but also people who stay in one place for several weeks. The longer the stay, the lower the room rate. (ah)
