Start of construction for the BäreTower in Ostermundigen
Construction work has begun on the BäreTower in Ostermundigen. Halter has been commissioned by Helvetia to build the more than 100-meter-high high-rise with apartments, offices, a restaurant and a hotel by the end of 2021.
The demolition work now started on the Bären restaurant and the other buildings on the plot will last until mid-December, Halter says. After the excavation of the building pit, the structural work is to start in April 2019. Erection is scheduled for July 2020. A little more than a year is then planned for the building shell and interior finishing work, so that the keys are to be handed over to the building owner at the end of 2021.
The BäreTower will comprise 155 rental apartments. The operation of the panorama restaurant will be taken over by Sportgastro AG, and the Austrian hotel chain Harry's Home will run the hotel. (ah)
