The Berlin-based hotel chain Dormero will take over the NH Zurich Airport Hotel in Glattbrugg on January 1, 2019. Following the takeover, the hotel property at Schaffhauserstraße 101 will initially be renovated, Dormero says. Once the work is complete, the property will have 140 rooms and suites, two meeting rooms, a restaurant, a bar and a fitness and wellness area, it said.

However, the Dormero Hotel Zurich is to be only the beginning of gaining a foothold in Switzerland, announces the hotel chain's CEO Dr. Marcus Maximilian Wöhrl. The aim, he says, is to occupy all the country's major cities.

Dormero was founded by Wöhrl in 2013. The hotel chain currently operates 21 properties across Germany, with 15 more hotels already signed up, according to the company. (ah)
