The first factory on the Schindler site in Ebikon near Lucerne was inaugurated in 1957, and since then the site has grown steadily. Schindler AG commissioned the well-known architectural firm Burckhardt+Partner to upgrade the urban development and redesign the company's premises.

The site is located about one kilometer northeast of the center of Ebikon between railroad tracks and Zugerstrasse. Along this road are the existing office building with a striking test tower dating from 1953 and a production hall that occupies the entire depth of the site. New buildings will include a visitor center, staff restaurant and auditorium. They are to form a new ensemble with the converted management building. The base building with reception foyer and staff restaurant will be a connecting element between the new buildings and the existing building, Burkhardt+Partner informs. In the implementation, the LEED certification on gold level is aimed at.

During December, the renovated and remodeled management building and main reception area are expected to be completed. The entire Schindler Campus is expected to be completed in fall 2019, Burkhardt+Partner said. (ah)
