Mall of Switzerland under new management
As of the new year, Peter Triner will take over the management of the Mall of Switzerland in Ebikon. The previous head of the mall Jan Wengeler says he wants to take on new professional challenges.
Peter Triner, who is from central Switzerland, has been active in the retail industry for 25 years and, among other things, was responsible as Managing Director of Bernina Switzerland for the support of sewing machine specialist dealers and for the operation of the company's own stores. Previously, he was CEO of the Swiss sales and marketing organization of the underwear manufacturer Triumph for over ten years.
Triner takes over management of the mall from Jan Wengeler. He will hand over his position on January 1, 2019. Until the official handover, Triner and Wengeler will manage the mall together. Jean-Hervé Bouyer, Director LSGI Suisse (SCC), thanked Wengeler on behalf of the owner for his commitment: "Both the successful opening of the Mall of Switzerland at the end of 2017 and the first successful year would not have been possible without his great commitment." He says his successor Triner will "open the next chapter in the Mall of Switzerland success story." Wengeler says he wants to take on new challenges. The structural changes that are planned anyway are just the right time for this, he says.
In addition to the change at the top of the mall, center and asset management are to be bundled in one hand in the future. In the first half of the year, the previous center manager CBRE will therefore hand over these tasks to the asset manager LSGI Suisse (SCC). The decision follows a comprehensive analysis of the first year of the Mall of Switzerland, according to a statement. Among other things, the conclusion was reached that bundling made sense both strategically and operationally, because the organization would become leaner, more agile and more effective. (ah)
