Renens: Construction of SBB's major Parc du Simplon project to start soon
Construction work on SBB Immobilien's new Parc du Simplon development in Renens is scheduled to begin this year. The building permit has come into force and the CSI consortium has been selected as total contractor.
SBB Immobilien has selected the Italian-Swiss consortium CSI, led by CSC Construction Company, as the total contractor. CSC Impresa Costruzioni in Lugano has a strong presence in Ticino and, among other things, helped to build the Gotthard Base Tunnel. In western Switzerland, however, the Parc du Simplon is only the fourth construction project for CSC.
The majority of the new construction area is dedicated to residential use.Around 270 apartments are planned, as well as space for stores, businesses, services and around 20,000 square meters of office space. SBB will locate its headquarters in western Switzerland on the site. (ah)
