Decathlon leases logistics property from Procimmo
Decathlon will locate its logistics center for Switzerland in Onnens/Bonvillars (VD). For this purpose, the French sporting goods retailer has leased a logistics property from Procimmo Swiss Commercial Fund.

According to Procimmo, Decathlon leases 18,000 sqm of logistics space for ten years. There is also an option to rent additional space at short notice. The property in Onnens/Bonvillars was previously used entirely by Philip Morris. In 2014, Procimmo had acquired it from the US group in a sale-and-leaseback transaction.
According to Procimmo, the buildings are located in close proximity to the highway and rail line. With a total subdividable area of approximately 70,000 square feet, the site has direct access to the rail network, as well as ground-level access to vehicles and various loading docks, it said. The entire property is leased to multiple tenants under various leases, in terms of lease term and leasable area.
The building that Decathlon has rented is currently being renovated. From there, Decathlon intends to supply the 20 or so stores it plans to operate in Switzerland by the end of 2019.
The conclusion of the lease agreement is the second cooperation between Decathlon and Procimmo: In 2018, the companies announced plans to open a new 3,000-square-foot store in Villeneuve, Vaud. To this end, Decathlon has signed a ten-year lease with Procimmo; the property is part of the Procimmo Swiss Commercial Fund portfolio. (ah)
