Lucerne: Residential development in the Geissenstein district
According to a media report, the buildings at Geissensteinring 8 to 18 in Lucerne are to make way for a new development.

As the online magazine centralplus reportedThe twelve buildings between Geissensteinring 8 and 18 belong to Pneumatikhaus AG. The company wants to demolish the properties on the approximately 3,500 sqm site because of their dilapidated building fabric and build a new development instead.
According to the report, commercial space is planned on the first floor and around 66 affordable rental apartments for around 100 people on the upper floors. Small apartments in particular are to be built; two-thirds of the planned apartments are 1.5 and 2.5 rooms.
The project will be presented to the city at the beginning of April, and the building permit should be available by the beginning of 2020 at the latest. Construction of the new superstructure could begin in the summer of 2020. According to the report, the investment volume is around CHF 20 million. (ah)
