Handover of the new Tissot Arena in Biel
HRS Real Estate AG as the total contractor and the City of Biel as the developer will be celebrating the completion of construction work on the Tissot Arena, formerly the "Stades de Bienne", this coming Friday. The construction measures in the Bözingenfeld took two and a half years, now the official handover is planned. The sports and leisure complex comprises a football and an ice stadium for 5,200 and 7,000 spectators respectively, as well as additional training fields and a curling hall.

Training and match operations in the Tissot Arena will commence at the same time as the official handover. This was jointly decided in May by the major sports clubs EHC Biel and FC Biel, the operating company CTS SA and the city of Biel. The parties involved in the project thus decided against the initially favoured gradual commissioning of individual parts of the facility after their acceptance.
The naming rights for the stadium were awarded to the Swatch Group and its Tissot brand at the beginning of the year. The corresponding contract has a term of at least ten years. (mr)
