Lucerne: Shop on Kornmarkt becomes vacant
The Provisorium clothing store at Kornmarkt 7 in Lucerne's old town will close at the end of February. As local media report, a new tenant is currently being sought.
Kofler AG operates the two-story store directly next to the town hall. A company spokesman told the media that the company did not want to give the business to a watch or jewelry store because it believes that certain sectors are overrepresented in the old town and that the retail space is more suitable for fashion and sporting goods anyway.
In fact, watch and jewelry stores in particular have recently spread out in Lucerne's old town: on Schwanenplatz, in the former Relax store, there is now the Splendid watch and jewelry store; on Kapellplatz, "Les Ambassadeurs" has rented the premises of Musik Hug.
Kofler AG is giving up its subsidiary Provisorium as a brand; the other Provisorium stores in the Emmen Center and Lucerne train station are to operate under the "Tom Tailor" label in the future. (ah)
