Interlaken: New hotel building on the Des Alpes site
The municipal council of Interlaken (BE) wants to realize a hotel on the Des-Alpes site with Losinger Marazzi and Boissée Finance.
A first attempt to develop the site failed at the ballot box in 2014, but now Interlaken's municipal council is taking a new approach and planning a hotel along the Höheweg.
As part of an evaluation process, the municipal council has selected a team consisting of Losinger Marazzi with the investor and hotel operator Boissée Finances. The companies want to realize a four-star hotel, which, according to the municipal council, would best suit Interlaken's tourist orientation. According to the development and operating concept, the municipality can retain ownership of the Des Alpes restaurant on the site and continue to operate it. Losinger Marazzi and Boissée Finance intend to pay around CHF 4.5 million to take over the hotel site.
To ensure that the voters are also involved, the municipal council wants to recommend to parliament that its decision be submitted to an advisory vote. After the political decisions, a study commission procedure is planned. The goal is for the hotel to open in 2024.
