Instead of Mipim in Cannes: Fall conference in Paris

The organizer Reed Midem is also postponing the catch-up date for the Mipim real estate trade fair. Instead of June in Cannes, a two-day conference will now take place in September.

"The situation around Covid-19 is changing daily and government measures are becoming increasingly restrictive," said Filippo Rean, Real Estate Division Director at Reed Midem. "It is clear that holding a major Mipim trade show in Cannes in June is not feasible given the rapid spread, devastating impact and uncertain evolution of the virus." As it is not possible to organize a conventional Mipim by the end of this year, Reed Midem is planning another form of gathering in Paris in the autumn.

Specifically, the trade fair organizer wants to organize a meeting of international real estate experts to take place in Paris in September together with other activities focusing on innovations in the real estate sector. Conferences, networking meetings and award ceremonies are planned. In addition, an online service called Mipim Connect is to be launched in April. The platform will be free of charge for people who have registered for Mipim 2020 and will include "a range of thought leadership content, networking and business tools", according to Reed Midem.

Mipim plans to return to Cannes in 2021. The next edition of the international real estate trade fair is scheduled to take place in the south of France from March 16 to 19, 2021. (ah)
