Suurstoffi: Juwo runs student dormitory

Zug Estates, the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the Jugendwohnnetz Zürich conclude an agreement on the operation of 100 residential places for students on the Suurstoffi site in Rotkreuz.

The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts will have a large location on the Suurstoffi site near Rotkreuz train station starting in 2016, and then the Suurstoffi Rotkreuz campus will also create 100 places for students to live. In a first step, 52 residential units in shared apartments for four to ten people will be built by fall 2017. They are part of the third construction phase of Suurstoffi, in which a further 152 rental apartments and office and service space for 500 workplaces will be built. In 2019, another 48 residential places for students will follow.

The residential places will be operated by Jugendwohnnetz Zürich (Juwo); a corresponding long-term agreement has now been concluded, Zug Estates, the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and Juwo announce.

Juwo rents or builds residential space and is also very active in interim use. In partnership with building cooperatives, institutions, companies and private individuals, the non-profit organization manages properties ranging from individual apartments to housing estates. At the end of 2015, Juwo managed 2,502 residential spaces in 1,049 apartments; annual sales were CHF 13.3 million. (ah)
