The Circle: USZ opens health centre
On October 5, the University Hospital Zurich USZ opened its new outpatient health center at The Circle at Zurich Airport.
In the future, around half of the USZ's outpatients will be treated at the new health center at The Circle, the USZ has announced. According to various media reports, the hospital would thus treat around 1,000 people per day at the new location.
At USZ Airport, there is a wide range of medical specialties on five floors: From dentistry to radiology to light therapy. There is also a day clinic for cancer patients, and dialysis patients can have their blood washed with a view of the airport runways. There are platforms for outpatient consultations, for laboratory or reception services or for endoscopic procedures, as well as a Permanence of the Children's Hospital Zurich and an orthopedic consultation of Balgrist University Hospital. A Permanence for adults is available for minor emergencies. Clinical research also takes place at USZ Airport.
The relocation of services to the new site is central to the hospital, says Gregor Zünd, CEO of the USZ. "Without the new location, we would not be able to realize new buildings on the campus." In addition, outpatient services can be offered with modern technologies and in an attractive environment, he adds. The central location and ideal transport connections of The Cicle bring advantages for many patients. (ah)
