Interlaken: Hotel-Restaurant "Chalet" becomes Grieder fashion store
In the premises of the former restaurant "Chalet" in the 148-year-old City Hotel Oberland, the branch of a luxury fashion house is being built. In August, the Geneva-based fashion group Bongénie Grieder plans to open the 250-square-meter store.

The hotel entrance, which was already centrally located before 1900, is to be restored and will provide access to the new Grieder sales outlet, which will occupy two levels; large, hall-like spatial structures will be created on the first floor.
The choice of the new location at Höheweg 7 in Interlaken - it will be the company's 18th sales outlet in the meantime - "resulted from its function as a tourist hub for guests with purchasing power from all over the world, especially from China, the Middle East and India, who desire quality, tradition and Swiss values," explained Claudia Torrequadra, marketing manager of Brunschwig Holding SA, to which the Bongénie-Grieder chain belongs. Brunschwig Holding SA is wholly owned by the Brunschwig family of Geneva; Pierre Brunschwig has been co-chief executive of the luxury fashion house group since 1987. (bw)
