Halter AG is to develop the "B5 Campus", a high-quality urban development, on construction site 5 of the Thun North ESP. The site is located at the intersection of Allmendstrasse, opposite the waste incineration plant and within walking distance of the planned Thun Nord S-Bahn station.

According to the city of Thun, the plot is central to triggering high-quality development in the entire ESP Thun North. The city has taken over building plot B5 from the landowner Armasuisse under building law, and there is potential for around 50,000 sqm of gross floor space on the plot. Empa has already been confirmed as the anchor tenant. With it, an "attractive combination" of commercial and industrial uses and other services is possible on the site.

A zoning ordinance is required to implement the project. The documents will be open to the public until 26 April 2021. If everything goes according to plan, construction of the first stage with the Empa site should start soon. The new building should be ready for occupation by the end of 2023. (ah)
