Methabau expands into residential construction

The Methabau Group, until now mainly active in commercial and industrial construction, wants to enter the residential construction business segment and is opening a site in Schlieren for this purpose.

The additional site in Schlieren, which will focus on residential construction, is scheduled to start operations in November 2021, Methabau announced. The existing site in Amriswil will be expanded as a center of excellence for the commercial sector. Head of the Schlieren site will be Stephan Wüstemann, who joined Methabau on June 1 and has taken over as chairman of the group management. Wüstemann was previously, among other things, a member of the Group Executive Board at Implenia and, as CEO, managed various total contracting companies.

At the same time, the project developer, general planner and total contractor is undergoing organizational changes: The two co-founders Michael Scheiwiller and Marco Andermatt have sold their shares to Patrick Manser, owner and CEO of the investment company Manser Group AG, to which Methabau belongs. Scheiwiller and Andermatt, as well as Chief Financial Officer Marcel Abbt, will retain their respective functions in the company and will be part of the Group Management. Jürg Wagner and Norbert Fisch will remain part of the extended management team in their current functions.

In addition, the real estate portfolio of the former Manser Invest AG will be integrated under the Methabau umbrella, Methabau announced. From the existing real estate holdings of the two parts of the company, an own-development portfolio will be created with building land, residential, commercial and industrial yield properties with a market value of around CHF 500 million.
