The SV Group and its franchise partner Marriott International opened Europe's first Residence Inn brand hotel in Munich around ten years ago, followed by two further locations in Munich and Frankfurt. Now they are entering the Swiss market: The Residence Inn in Geneva is scheduled to open its doors in 2024. The developer and contractor for the project is Losinger Marazzi.

The Residence Inn will be built on an area of 4,500 sqm and will one day comprise 100 studios; a large outdoor terrace with a view of the park is planned. Three one- to two-bed suites with their own roof terrace and panoramic views of Lake Geneva and the Alpine massif are also planned. The studios will be fully equipped with a living and sleeping area as well as a kitchenette - and are thus geared towards guests planning stays of several days or weeks. The Residence Inn will be furnished by the interior design agency Upcircle from London.

According to its Managing Director Beat Kuhn, the SV Group sees "great market potential in hotel concepts that are geared towards longer stays". Not least due to the Corona pandemic, the demands of travellers have changed further. With the Residence Inn in Geneva, a modern hotel concept is being brought to the heart of the multinational Swiss city, while at the same time strengthening its presence in French-speaking Switzerland.
