The Spektrum project, which Implenia is building as part of the first construction phase at the Irchel campus, will provide space for 80 laboratory staff and scientific equipment as well as office space on an area of around 3,000 square meters from 2022. The building will be used by the Functional Genomics Center Zurich (FGCZ), a joint research and training platform of the University of Zurich (UZH) and ETH Zurich.

According to Implenia, the useful life of the building is limited to 15 years. It is being built as a modular structure, which makes it easy to dismantle the building. The individual components can be reused or recycled. The building will be designed to meet Minergie-P-Eco standards and SGNI Gold certification. Construction is scheduled to start in mid-June 2021, and the temporary laboratory building is to be handed over to the client in summer 2022.

On the Turley site in Mannheim, the former Kaiser Wilhelm barracks, Implenia is constructing six buildings with 267 rental apartments (38 sqm to 126 sqm), which will be designed and built to KfW55 efficiency house standard. The development will also include a car-sharing station and a bicycle service station, as well as an underground parking garage with 214 parking spaces. Work will start in mid-June and is scheduled for completion at the end of 2023. (ah)
