Emmen Center to be renovated for 50 million
The Emmen Center in Emmenbrücke is to be renovated at a cost of over CHF 50 million. In particular, the architecture from the 1970s will be modernized, and the facades will be renovated and redesigned. The new landmark of the Emmen Center is to be the redesigned parking garage facade.

According to the Maus Frères Group, to which the Emmen Center belongs, the relevant building permits have already been issued. The project costs for the owner amount to more than CHF 35 million, plus investments by the tenants for the store extensions of more than CHF 15 million. Most of the interior and exterior work will be completed by Easter 2017.
With the renovation, Emmen Center is also adapting its tenant mix and aims to make its mark even more strongly in the fashion and beauty sector in the future. By 2017, various outlets will be completely renovated and/or relocated within the center. However, the number of specialty stores will remain at over 80.
Already in 2015, more than 10,000 sqm of sales area were renewed and remodeled, among other things H&M modernized its store and enlarged it by 600 sqm of sales area. With the additional integration of the H&M Home concept, the H&M flagship store in central Switzerland was created. From fall 2016, the Spanish fashion house Zara will also offer fashion for women, men and children on 2,000 sqm of sales space over two floors. The Emmen Center is Zara's first location in the greater Lucerne area.
Emmen Center is part of the Maus Frères Group, which also owns the Manor department store chain, Jumbo Baumarkt and Athleticum, as well as eleven shopping centers throughout Switzerland. (ah)
