Zurich: Two airport hotels planned in Rümlang
According to a report in the "Zürcher Unterländer" newspaper, two new hotels with a total of more than 360 rooms are planned in the municipality of Rümlang.
The report of the Zürcher Unterländer plans for a hotel at Flughofstrasse 63, 67, 67a and 69. A five-storey complex with 8,800 square meters of usable space is to be built on the two plots. There will be 136 rooms in a three-star category and a further 140 rooms in a two-star category. A seminar room with space for up to 230 people is also planned. A total of around 170 parking spaces will be created in the basement and on the first floor. The operator of the hotel is not yet known.
The second hotel project in Rümlang is to be built at Hofwiesenstrasse 4. A five-storey building with 85 rooms is planned. According to the newspaper, the investor is Jet Schweiz IT AG. The company has already taken over two existing hotels in Sursee (LU) and Duggingen/Aesch (BL). The planning application has already been approved and an amendment application is expected to be approved soon, writes the newspaper. Construction could therefore begin this year.
In Rümlang there is currently the Holiday Inn Express with 163 rooms and the Park Inn (formerly Golden Arch) with 210 rooms. (ah)
