Luxury hotel planned for Klosters
The "La Montana" hotel project is to be realized in Klosters for CHF 90 million. A five-star hotel with wellness facilities for summer and winter tourism is planned. The project developer is Immoville AG from Klosters, with plans drawn up by Zurich architect Dietrich Schwarz.
The planned 100-plus hotel rooms, numerous restaurants and lounges, banquet and congress halls as well as the fitness, spa and wellness facilities with indoor and outdoor pools are to be spread across five buildings in keeping with the local landscape. Space is also planned for commercial and service businesses, the post office and a crèche
According to current plans, access to the new center development will be from Landstrasse directly into a two-storey underground car park with around 300 parking spaces.
Immoville anticipates an investment volume of CHF 90 million for the entire development. Discussions are already underway with potential investors and hotel operators. However, a legally binding building permit must be obtained before any contracts can be signed.
The Klosters municipal council and the electorate must now decide on a corresponding zoning plan amendment. A referendum is expected to be held in the second half of 2016. The vote includes the partial revision of the local planning, the sale of municipal land to the project developer and the acquisition of 230 of the 300 parking spaces by the municipality. Construction will take around two years. (ah)
