Bofinger, 49 years old and a native of Stuttgart, has worked in the real estate industry for over 25 years. Since 2006, as Head Real Estate at Gothaer Asset Management AG, he has managed an international indirect portfolio that has grown to approximately €2.7 billion under his leadership.

Previously, Bofinger worked for six years in fund management at DB Real Estate Management GmbH of the Deutsche Bank Group. He can thus draw on the experience that is important for AFIAA in designing and managing complex real estate investment structures in terms of corporate and tax law, according to a statement by the investment foundation.

At AFIAA, Bofinger is to drive the further development of the portfolio and cooperation with investors. With its "2016+" investment strategy, the investment foundation aims to grow the portfolio from the current CHF 1.4 billion to three billion over the next five years. The focus is on selected regions in Europe, North America and Asia, and there on locations that show sustainable economic and demographic growth, AFIAA says.

AFIAA Foundation Board President Andreas F. Vögeli, says: "I am very pleased that Avadis, as manager of the AFIAA product, has found an accomplished successor for the CEO position who explicitly supports our focused strategy." (ah)
