Gallus headquarters in St. Gallen to become a campus
Two St. Gallen entrepreneurs have acquired the headquarters of the Gallus Group in St. Gallen and intend to develop the site into a campus. Gallus remains the main tenant.
Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG is restructuring the headquarters of the Gallus Group in St. Gallen. The company says it plans to develop it into a center of excellence for digital label printing. To this end, the "Experience Center", a new customer demonstration center, is to open in the main building at the end of 2022. According to the plans, the site will also have a new office infrastructure.
St. Gallen entrepreneurs Marcel and Roger Baumer are responsible for the reorganization of the Gallus site. They have taken over the property, which has an area of around 20,000 square meters, with effect from April 1, 2022; the Gallus Group will continue to use the space it requires as the main tenant. A corresponding purchase and long-term tenancy agreement has been signed, according to Heidelberger Druckmaschinen. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of the 2022/23 financial year. The purchase price has not been disclosed, the company adds.
The Baumer brothers are owners of the Hälg Group, but they have acquired the site privately. "The Gallus site is to develop into an open campus for companies and institutions that help shape the future and strengthen St. Gallen as a workplace," says Roger Baumer. (ah)
