Bucherer moves into new branch in Basel
Bucherer AG will move to Freie Strasse 51 in Basel next year. Until now, the jeweler has rented space directly across the street.
Currently, the three-story retail space at Freie Strasse 51 is still being used by Motel a Miio. The ceramic label operates a pop-up store there until the end of the year. From 2023, the traditional company Bucherer has leased the total of 1,019 sqm on a long-term basis, informs SPGI Zurich. The brokerage house was commissioned by the owner Kost Sport AG with the lease.
Bucherer is already located in Basel at Freie Strasse 40, just across the street from the property. With the move to Freie Strasse 51, however, the watch and jewelry retailer will now expand.
Gabriela Brandenberg, Head Office and Retail at SPGI Zurich, says Basel is not an easy location because of its proximity to the border. Bucherer AG knows the location better than almost any other company and believes in it. The fact that Freie Strasse is currently being renovated and upgraded in stages is a clear statement, also from the public side, for the Basel business region. (ah)
