Implenia has been commissioned as general contractor to renovate the headquarters of an international organization in Geneva. According to the company, the work, which is expected to take two and a half years, will include bringing the facades and security installations into line with current standards. Furthermore, the areas and 1,200 workplaces in the building will be redesigned, and the technical equipment and installations will also be modernized. After completion of the work, the refurbished building will meet strict sustainability criteria.

According to its own information, Implenia won the project as general contractor in a competition. The company had previously been commissioned as overall planner, and Implenia has also already built a new building for the international organization.

Shortly before, Implenia had announced that it would be constructing two buildings for production and research in Cheseaux-sur-Lausanne with the Pulse project. The client belongs to the Epic Suisse Group, the construction company added. The two four-story buildings are connected by two common basement levels. They are expected to meet the Minergie standard, and BREEAM-good certification is being sought, it said. Work will begin this summer and is expected to take two and a half years.

The total volume of the two orders is just under CHF 200 million, Implenia says. (ah)
