Real Estate Award: Jury resigns almost unanimously
Four of the five members of the Real Estate Awards jury have announced their resignation. Peter Jaeggi, Bernhard Ruhstaller, Walter Schärer and Beat Seger are leaving the jury due to differing views on the future direction of the event. André R. Spathelf will remain on the jury.
The Real Estate Award was launched in 2011, and since then the award has been presented annually to outstanding real estate projects and services as well as to real estate personalities at the Real Estate Night in front of around 300 guests. A jury of real estate experts judged the projects submitted on the basis of defined criteria.
The resignation had been in the offing for some time, the jury members wrote in a joint statement: "Intensive discussions were held with the organizer Immoinfo24 about the future direction and positioning of the event. Unfortunately, the views on this diverged too strongly."
The former jury members stress that they are still sympathetic to the event: "We are convinced that the Real Estate Award has its justification, but we also believe that it needs to be more closely aligned with the needs of the real estate industry."
The resignation also has consequences for the SVSM Award, the prize awarded by the Swiss Association for Location Management: In 2016, this was also presented for the first time as part of the Real Estate Night; in 2017, the two events are to be held separately again. (ah)
