Burgdorf: Overbuilding of the Bucher site planned
The Basel pension fund Stiftung Abendrot wants to redevelop the site of the former Bucher wool twisting mill in Burgdorf. A mix of residential, office, cultural and leisure uses is planned.
To this end, the Burgdorf City Council approved the amendment of the basic building code in the area of the zone with planning obligation (ZPP) of the Bucher site on June 20. This means that the Abendrot Foundation can now develop a project. The amendment to the land use regulations will enable the foundation to erect an eight-story building in the center of the site as planned.
The height of the superstructure had been discussed in advance with broad participation of the population, reports the Bernese newspaper. A preliminary project had shown that the construction of a taller building would be appropriate and would not affect the historic fabric of the former factory, (ah)
