A milestone has been reached in the Horgen Oberdorf neighborhood development of the Realstone RSF real estate fund: 210 apartments (1.5 to 5.5 rooms) have been inaugurated, all of which have already been leased, according to the Realstone Group. The real estate project also includes shopping facilities, offices and a daycare center.

At the same time as the inauguration, the foundation stone has been laid for the final construction phase: The conversion and expansion of the former halls of the textile machinery manufacturer Schweiter. Here, 234 additional residential units will be created. With completion scheduled for 2024, the new quarter will thus count 444 apartments with a total of more than 33,000 square meters of living space as well as 6,300 square meters of commercial and administrative space.

Esteban Garcia, president of the Realstone Group, described the Horgen Oberdorf quarter as a "flagship and an example of sustainability". According to Realstone, the heating is supplied by geothermal probes and a waste heat recovery system from the computer servers in the neighboring building and is CO2-free. The buildings were built to Minergie standards and have photovoltaic panels on their roofs that can meet the electricity needs of 225 households. A new pedestrian bridge connects the neighborhood with the SBB train station.
