Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall is being renovated
The canton of Zurich wants to convert and renovate its tourist destination Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall. Among other things, a hotel is planned
Schloss Laufen is to be renovated from the end of 2024 to mid-2027 - at a total cost of around CHF 50 million. "In the future, the synergies of gastronomy, event area and hotel business are to be used and thus the potential of the tourism destination Schloss Laufen is to be exploited even better," the government council informs. This requires a comprehensive renovation of the buildings and also a new concept for the gastronomy, the event area and the hotel business.
As SRF reports, the castle, which is only partially open to the public, is to be made fully accessible again. A hotel is to be built in an empty part of the castle, which used to house a youth hostel. (ah)
