Investis makes less profit in 2022 than in the previous year
The Investis Group did record revaluation gains in 2022. However, as they were lower than in the exceptional year 2021, EBIT and net profit declined.
Stéphane Bonvin, CEO of Investis Group, is satisfied with the performance of the 2022 financial year: "We are presenting a strong result in both segments. Our business model, focused on residential real estate mainly in Geneva and Lausanne, and our geographic presence throughout Switzerland in the real estate services business, together with our strong balance sheet, continue to provide a solid foundation for future growth," he explains on the occasion of the presentation of the 2022 annual report.
Sales up by more than five percent
The Real Estate Group reported an increase in sales of 5.3% to CHF 228 million (previous year: 216 million) - although eleven properties were sold. EBITDA before revaluations and gains on disposals remained stable at CHF 54 million. Investis recorded revaluation gains of CHF 67 million and a further CHF 63 million as profit from disposals. EBIT thus reached CHF 180 million. In the previous year, the figure was 235 million CHF, but Investis 2021 had recorded exceptionally high revaluation gains of 184 million CHF. The real estate portfolio was valued at CHF 1.5 billion as of the reporting date; it comprises 149 buildings with 2,445 residential units.
Net income excl. revaluation more than doubled
The bottom line is a net profit of CHF 152 million (previous year: CHF 201 million). Excluding the revaluation effects, Investis has achieved a leap in profit from CHF 41 million in 2021 to CHF 94 million.
Dividend of CHF 2.50
The dividend is to remain stable at CHF 2.50 per share. In addition, the Board of Directors proposes to the Annual General Meeting on May 3 to elect Corine Blesi as a new independent member to the Board. Blesi is Managing Director of NZZ Connect & Swiss Economic Forum at the NZZ Media Group; her previous positions include COO of Hauswartprofis, a subsidiary of the Investis Group. (ah)
