Strabag operates a good 20 sites in German-speaking Switzerland, and now the construction company is also active in French-speaking Switzerland: the opening of a site in Morges (VD) on April 12 marked the "official step across the Röstigraben", according to the company.

At the new site, Strabag offers special civil engineering services, which also includes excavation surrounds, large and small-scale drilling and the use of sheet piling.

Inquiries from French-speaking Switzerland have increased recently, according to Mike Albinus, Commercial Division Manager for Foundation Engineering. The company has already carried out a number of projects in the region in the past and is thus successfully positioned, he added. Strabag says it is involved in the Tramway Lausannois' Viaduc de Malley streetcar project as a subcontractor to the JPF Construction/Dénériaz consortium. There, it is drilling 32 large bored piles that will serve as foundations for the piers and abutments. (ah)
