Pratteln: Start of construction for Pratteln headquarters announced
Logis Suisse and other partners are building a large residential and commercial development on the site of the former Coop distribution center near the train station in Pratteln.
The non-profit housing association Logis Suisse AG acquired the 43,000 m² site north-east of Pratteln railroad station in 2016. The plan is to develop the industrial site into a district with affordable residential and commercial space. Specifically, 480 apartments for 1,200 people and 15,000 square meters of commercial space for crafts, culture, art and services are to be created. A 7,600 sqm neighborhood park will be created in the middle of the complex.
Logis Suisse has joined forces with the non-profit developers Wohnbau-Genossenschaft Nordwest, Gewona Nord-West, Genossenschaft Mietshäuser Syndikat, Homebase and Terra/Habitare Schweiz AG for the realization. Logis Suisse is responsible for the North and West sub-projects, which will create a total of almost 177 apartments and 400 square meters of commercial space. The costs for both sub-projects amount to a good CHF 90 million.
Demolition is due to begin in June; however, some existing buildings will remain and be converted. Construction work is expected to begin in August 2024. (ah)
