Lucerne: Second capsule hotel to be built on Zürichstrasse
Lucerne is getting another capsule hotel. According to the operator Capsule Services AG, it will open in spring next year.
The hotel with around 80 beds in sleeping pods is being built in the center of the city at Zürichstrasse 33. The property is owned by accident insurer Suva and managed by Arlewo AG.
Capsule Services AG opened Switzerland's first capsule hotel in Lucerne in 2018. In 2020, the company also opened what it claims is the largest capsule hotel in Europe, directly at Zurich Airport. The occupancy rate in the first year was reportedly around 75%. The second Lucerne hotel will be designed along the lines of the "Library" theme and will be called "Chapter Lucerne". (aw)
