Lucerne: Ground-breaking ceremony at Seetalplatz
Losinger Marazzi has begun construction of the 36,000 square meter cantonal administration center at Seetalplatz in Emmen near Lucerne.
The ground-breaking ceremony for the new cantonal administration building on Seetalplatz in Emmen (LU) was held on September 14. The 36,000 square meter office building is being built and developed by Losinger Marazzi as total contractor, with designs by Max Dudler Architekten. The building permit for the major project became legally binding in July.
Today, the cantonal administration is spread across more than 30 locations. The new building will bring around 1,450 employees together under one roof in 2026. The mix of uses includes a daycare center on the upper floor and apartments on the top floors. The project will be realized as a five-storey base building and a high-rise building with a wooden atrium. Photovoltaic modules are planned for electricity production on the roof surfaces and on parts of the façade. The entire heating and cooling supply is provided by a connection to the district heating system. The office areas and the restaurant are naturally lit via the roof terrace of the atrium and three inner courtyards.
The project is certified with the SNBS Gold and Minergie-P-E-CO sustainability labels. Only Swiss wood is used for the timber hybrid construction and the prefabricated façade elements. (aw)
