Lucerne: SPS buys "Gotthard building
Swiss Prime Site has acquired the "Gotthard Building" in Lucerne from SBB AG.

The "Gotthard Building" is the former administrative building of the Gotthard Railway Company and dates back to 1875. For many years it was the seat of the District Directorate II of the SBB, and since 2002 it has housed the two social law departments of the Federal Supreme Court, which has taken up long-term tenancy here. There is also retail space on the first floor.
The property is located in a prominent position at Schweizerhofquai 6 in Lucerne. It is of national interest and is one of the most representative buildings in the neo-Renaissance style in the canton of Lucerne.
"With the Gotthard building, a rare opportunity arose to acquire a historically valuable building of national importance," says Peter Lehmann, CIO of Swiss Prime Site. "In a prime location, in excellent condition and with a tenant of the highest credit standing," the property fits Swiss Prime Site's portfolio, Lehmann added. (ah)
