Uster: Zeughausareal West to become a residential quarter
There are plans for 100 apartments as well as commercial and retail space. The city of Uster is taking over a building right from the owner Armasuisse Immobilien and is looking for a realization partner.

The development of the Zeughausareal West site is making progress: the owner of the site, Armasuisse Immobilien, and the city of Uster have signed a building lease agreement for a period of 100 years, as announced by the city. This will allow the site to be transformed into a complex with around 100 apartments, which will also offer non-profit housing. There will also be space for businesses.
The municipal council must approve the building lease agreement. The city of Uster can then appoint a sub-construction rights holder to develop the site in accordance with the design plan. The search for such a sub-construction rights holder - a building cooperative or a property developer - should begin immediately after the legally binding municipal council decision and take place in the coming year. The city of Uster expects construction to begin by 2032 at the latest. (ah)
