The UBS pension fund is to renovate its housing estate on Dennler-, Flüela- and Fuchsiastrasse in Zurich Altstetten. The buildings in the first stage date from 1986, the second stage was completed in 1993.

The estate currently has a total of 240 apartments, and a further 280 apartments will be added as part of the development, bringing the total number to 520, according to UBS. New commercial and neighborhood uses and studio apartments on the first floor are also planned. The architectural competition for the project was won by the consortium Esch Sintzel Architekten & Ramser Schmid Architekten.

According to the UBS pension fund, almost 60% of the current building fabric will be reused for the new development. The energy efficiency of the buildings will be improved and a modern mobility concept is also planned: The number of bicycle parking spaces will be increased, but no additional car parking spaces are planned. Sharing services and e-charging stations are planned.

The pension fund plans to start construction on the first stage in fall 2027, with the second stage due to begin three years later. (ah)
