Implenia receives follow-up order in Lokstadt and partners with "Nest"
The company is responsible for the tenant fit-out of the commercial space in Lokstadt. It is also researching low-CO2 building materials with Empa in the "Nest" research and innovation platform.

After Implenia developed and built the Bigboy high-rise building in Winterthur's Lokstadt, the construction company has won a follow-up contract. The client, Swica Organisation de Santé, has also awarded Implenia the contract for the tenant fit-out of the commercial space in Lokstadt, the company announced. The tenant fit-out is already in full swing and should be completed in June.
The Bigboy building is 50 meters high and comprises 125 rental apartments. Together with the Krokodil and Rocket buildings, it forms an ensemble around Lokstadt's central Dialogplatz.
Partnership with "Nest"
Implenia has also announced that it is becoming a partner of the "Nest" research and innovation platform at Empa and is building the new "Beyond Zero" building unit. Most of the building materials used in the unit will be CO2-reduced and CO2-negative, such as thermal insulation materials and cement that bind CO2 in the air, or clay-based bricks that do not need to be fired.
Implenia expects the collaboration to provide important insights for the future, CO2-reducing construction and operation of buildings and infrastructure. "We will use these findings for development, planning and construction in all Implenia's divisions, as well as in management by Wincasa or for Ina Invest's sustainable real estate portfolio," says Jens Vollmar, Head Division Buildings at Implenia.
