Zurich: City buys six residential buildings
Der Kaufpreis für die Liegenschaften mit insgesamt fast 140 Wohnungen lag nach Angaben der Stadt bei über 180 Mio. CHF.
The City of Zurich has been awarded the contract for three properties in Zurich-Albisrieden. The three plots have been built over with a total of six houses, which in turn comprise a total of 138 apartments (1 to 5 rooms), according to the city.
The buildings date from the 1950s to 1970s and are in usable to good condition, according to the city of Zurich. No renovation work is required for the time being. The buildings currently offer living space for 284 people. However, there is potential for new construction on the plots, which could increase the occupancy rate.
The properties came onto the market in spring 2023 and the city said it had prevailed in a two-stage bidding process. Including transaction costs, the purchase price amounts to CHF 182.25 million, according to the city's statement. (ah)
