Villigen: Switzerland Innovation Park Innovaare opened
Switzerland Innovation's sixth location has now been established in Aargau and has a total area of 38,000 square meters.

After four years of construction, an innovation park with 23,000 square meters of rentable space has been created next to the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in Villigen (AG). The opening was celebrated recently in the presence of Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin. According to the operators, 80 % of the building has already been let. PSI is both a strategic partner and the largest tenant. The first start-ups and technology transfer centers moved in at the beginning of the year.
One of six locations of Switzerland Innovation
Park Innovaare is one of six locations of the umbrella organization Switzerland Innovation. According to Robert Rudolph, CEO of Park Innovaare, up to 21 companies have settled here, including a total of 15 spin-offs from the PSI, ETH or FHNW, two technology transfer centers and large international companies.
The plot area is approx. 19,000 sqm, the total area 38,000 sqm. Construction started at the end of 2019. In addition to one to two-storey workshop halls with clean rooms and laboratories, the complex also includes 1,200 m² of co-working spaces and offices as well as 17 meeting and conference rooms. Around 95% of Park Innovaare's heating requirements are covered by waste heat from cooling and around 5% from PSI's district heating network. (aw)
